We all want the same things: a liveable planet, a safe home and an affordable energy bill 🌍🤝
Yet here in the Netherlands, we remain heavily reliant on fossil fuels. This leaves us vulnerable to international tensions and volatile energy prices. Meanwhile, the consequences of the climate crisis are becoming increasingly apparent.
Whilst major polluters are making record profits, households are footing the bill.
This calls for a change of course: investing in energy security, affordability and a future-proof economy.
On 12 September, tens of thousands of people will gather in Amsterdam, just before Prinsjesdag and the presentation of the Budget Memorandum. With a minority government in power, there is scope for change, provided that public pressure makes itself felt.
CHOOSE OUR FUTURE. GET RID OF FOSSIL FUELS.
Our proposals:
- Accelerate the transition to clean energy (solar and wind) and phase out dependence on fossil fuels
- Launch a national insulation programme to make homes more energy-efficient and affordable
- Make major polluters contribute their fair share through tax and CO₂ policies
- Ensure a just transition with job security and worker involvement
- Support the Global South in achieving a fair fossil fuel phase-out pathway.
Get involved in your own way. Every action counts!
