SR is working together with XR Arnhem in the Museum collaboration group. Our aim is to reach and mobilise a large group of people for climate action. The premise is that the extreme positions on the climate denial side cannot be changed. Therefore the goal is to move people who are neutral and positive towards the XR\/SR message towards a better-informed position and a stronger sense of their own agency. Here, the concept of action is broadly defined as taking steps to express concern about the state of the climate in any way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We do this by joining forces with museums that take a stand in the climate debate and, based on their position have both a support base (which we cannot easily reach) and authority (to increase willingness to listen, recognisability and credibility).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have had successful collaborations with the Open Air Museum<\/a> and Museum Arnhem<\/a>, here<\/a>and here<\/a>, and are working with Kroller Muller museum to produce a guided tour along their sculptures where we make the link with planetary boundaries and show the necessity of system change but also what people can do in their own lives. For this we use the input of scientists and experts in and out of academia in our network. The tour will launch on 14 May 2026 and SR will be present to talk with visitors.
