When I walk in the woods (which I love to do), I feel the higher temperatures in winter and miss the snow. In spring, I worry about nature being out of sync, with flowers blooming too early and insects arriving too late to pollinate them and eat their nectar. I watch nervously as the trees lose their leaves in summer due to longer droughts, and in autumn I worry about the animals that have to survive the winter with less and less food available to them.

But giving up is not an option! That is why I am happy to use my knowledge of climate communication and the connection between humans and nature for SR (and beyond) to make a difference, especially now that we can still make that difference. For me, climate change is not a hopeless cause as long as there are people committed to a different future!

Marit Bogert.
